Pico Glaze

PicoSure® Laser

We provide an array of treatment in Singapore revolutionised by the PicoSure Laser, the world’s leading picosecond aesthetic laser, widely recognized for its technology leadership and proven performance for treatment of Pigmentation, Acne Scars and Colour Tattoo removal.

What is PicoSure laser?

PicoSure laser is a new generation laser that deliver ultrashort laser pulses in picoseconds (10−12) whereas compared to the traditional Q-switched laser, which delivers laser pulses in nanoseconds(10−9).It is a 755nm wavelength Alexandrite laser that leverages on picosecond laser technology to manage the treatment of hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and colour tattoo with remarkable results.

Picosure laser Singapore

What makes PicoSure Laser so unique?

Unlike most other picosecond devices, PicoSure utilizes a 755 nm wavelength that naturally targets melanin. It absorbed less in blood as compared to the 1064 nm wavelength. In trillionths of a second, the 755 nm energy relies less on the photothermal action of longer-pulsed devices, instead creating an intense photomechanical impact. This technology not only spares the skin from high thermal damage, it also has greater disruption on the target chromophore with better clearance using less energy and fewer treatments. In layman’s terms, it is an ideal treatment for treating pigmentary conditions, as more laser shots can be delivered into the dermis.

The other unique feature of PicoSure Laser is that it has additional function that uses patented Focus Lens Array. Using a unique method of action, the Focus Lens uses a diffractive lens to precisely redistributes and delivers 755 nm energy to the skin. Both the high and low intensity energy lightens and helps to shatter stubborn pigments under the skin, while the high energy creates Laser-Induced Optical Breakdown (LIOB) in the epidermis without damaging the skin surface.

LIOBs form and absorb incoming energy, expanding so quickly that they create pressure waves, which transmit into the dermis. This pressure squeezes the surrounding cells and simulates a pressure injury, activating cell signaling and inducing an enhanced inflammatory healing response. This process leads to increased collagen and elastin production in the dermis without the damage caused by energy passing through the dermoepidermal junction.

In addition, the 755nm wavelength device is able to breakdown tattoo inks that are difficult to remove, such as black, blue and green. Patients treated with Focus experience only a few hours of mild redness, with pigment, wrinkle and acne scar results.

Benefits

A More Effective Solution For Pigmentation
Traditional lasers use photothermal energy to shatter pigments, while Picosure laser disrupts the stubborn pigments by using short pulses to treat a wide range of skin pigmentation issues such as freckles, sun spots, and melasma. It uses ultra-short pulse bursts of energy to break down pigments into smaller dust-like particles which can be absorbed by the lymphatic system and be eliminated naturally.

The shorter exposure of laser also significantly reduces the risks of burning, scarring and other adverse side effects relating to traditional laser treatments.

The Tool For Colour Tattoo Removal
Apart from skin rejunvenation, acne scars removal and hyperpigmentation treatment, PicoSure laser is also an effective tool for removing colour tattoos. Its strength lies in its capability in shatteringtattoo ink particles effectively. By targeting the laser on the tattoo ink particles in picoseconds, it can effectively clear stubborn ink colours such as orange, yellow, red, blue , purple and green.

A Gentle Alternative for Acne Scar Treatment
PicoSure Laser is one of the latest treatment that is FDA approved for pigmentation, skin texture and acne scars treatment. The Focus Lens is hexagonal, closed packed diffractive lens array which is 500μm centre to centre. More energy is concentrated into the small spot, which makes it 20x more powerful than normal lens.

By delivering short laser pulses that are 10 times shorter in duration than a traditional Q-switched laser, more laser shots can be delivered with each pulse staying on the skin for a shorter duration. This means that less heat is generated in the skin, causing significantly less damage to the skin tissue.

Through its targeted mode of energy delivery, PicoSure is able to reach the dermis layer, improving acne scars with the formation of new collagen and elastin production.

Doctor’s Advice & Recommendation

The 755nm Alexandrite wavelength is a good balance between the 532nm and 1064nm. It selectively targets the melanin and blood vessels without hurting the skin from high thermal damage. But I found that by combining a variety of lasers along with this PicoSure, I am able to target the different layers of the skin and achieve a comprehensive results.

Hyperpigmentation Laser Toning

Effective Hyperpigmentation Treatment in Singapore

Laser Toning: The Solution to Hyperpigmentation Problems

Laser toning treatments can effectively correct sun spots, acne scars, melasma and other conditions that affect the skin’s pigmentation, whether they’re at the surface or deep in the dermal layers.

You probably already know about the many applications of laser and other light-based technologies in the marke that uses it for hair and tattoo removal to body contouring, and are beating out other non-invasive skin treatments by way of efficacy and popularity.

However, addressing pigmentary disorders with lasers or light treatments may also allow you to avoid outdated, chemical-laden skin “bleaching” creams, as these new high-tech devices are now being used to blast away melasma, hyperpigmentation, and other common skin concerns.

What is Laser Toning and How Does It Work?

To put it simply, laser toning is the process of using laser energy to penetrate specific layers of the skin and break apart pigments, which often surface as a result of sun damage, aging, acne, and other skin conditions.

Unlike traditional laser skin resurfacing treatments, laser toning is performed using non-ablative lasers, which work by heating up the targeted tissue without actually destroying it. This creates what dermatologists call a ‘controlled thermal injury,’ triggering a natural response in the body to produce more collagen and elastin. After the procedure is complete, the body’s immune system processes excess pigmentation and leftover particles to clear away discoloration.

The Procedure

The ND YAG Laser operates in 2 wavelengths – 1064 nm and 532 nm respectively. Designed to treat pigment cells, the ND YAG is a non-ablative laser, wherein the skin tissue continuity is retained during the course of the treatment. The pigments, basically melanin, preferentially absorb the specific wavelengths of the lasers. The emanating energy then clears the pigment.

Using the ND YAG LASER is a fairly simple procedure. Requiring about 15 minutes, it is also fast and does not call for any downtime. A good lunch time medi-facial procedure for the working class. The laser energy penetrates the dermis and rejuvenates it.

There are minimal side-effects and these are limited to redness of the treated portion. But this condition lasts for barely a few hours. Usually, there is no swelling and therefore the patient can get back to work immediately after the treatment.

The results of this treatment, for pigmentation, may not be evident immediately after the treatment. In fact before results begin to show themselves, there is a possibility of the treated skin getting dark for a week or two. But when it comes to skin lightening procedures and skin rejuvenation, the results are almost instant.

How does laser toning work?

Long Pulse ND: YAG Laser is a non-ablative laser procedure that relies on extremely short energy pulses to “”heat”” the skin. It is frequently used to stimulate collagen production which helps in collagen remodelling that helps tighten the pores, and also improve skin rejuvenation, hair removal and cut down the visibility of deep vascular lesions. The treatment is safe and effective for people with any kind of skin. The inner dermal layer is showered with photo-thermal energy, which in turn stimulates the collagen surrounding each pore. In this way, the pore size is reduced and oil secretion is also controlled. Wrinkles on the face can also be treated effectively with this treatment.

The low-energy laser passes selectively weakens melanocytes and partially destroys some melanin pigments. The heat from the laser passes also concurrently stimulates collagen production within the dermis. There is ultimately tightening of the skin. The laser gently vaporizes the very superficial layers of the skin.

In short, a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is essentially a laser designed to treat pigments. We, however have modified the usage to harness its’ gentle nature to perform laser toning for skin tightening and rejuvenation.

Fun facts:

Neodymium-doped Yttrium aluminium garnet is a crystal used as a laser medium, hence the name Nd:YAG.
Nd:YAG laser has a wave length of 1064nm and has the capability to reach deep layers of skin tissue compared to other types of laser.
Q-switching is the technique of modifying the laser wavelength to make it shorter, usually 532nm. The short-wave length laser is useful for treating superficial skin pigmented lesions.

Laser Toning for Deep-Lying Structures Treatment

Dermal lasers are used for a wide range of skin ailments, including hyperpigmentation, red spots, dark spots, wrinkles, and a slew of other pigmentation concerns. Learn how laser toning treatment can help resolve other skin concerns below:

  • Melasma — If you suffer from melasma — a form of hyperpigmentation which causes brown to gray-brown patches on the face — you already know it’s one of the most difficult skin conditions to treat, especially for those with darker skin tones. Dermatological studies report that laser toning effectively improves the appearance of pigmented lesions and dark spots. However, laser treatments can only control melasma, not cure it.
  • Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation — This epidermal pigmentation condition, often referred to as PIH, generally occurs following an injury, burn, inflammatory lesion or skin disorder. It is believed to be more common in people of Hispanic or African American ancestry, although technically it can occur on any skin type. Specific lasers, cooling devices, and wavelengths can be used to treat PIH. Many dermatologists recommend pairing these treatments with topical lightening creams for the best results.
  • Dark spots — If you’ve noticed brown spots on your face that aren’t associated with melasma, PIH or another skin condition, they might be caused by sun damage. The right laser treatment can effectively zap these dark spots away. Some dermatologists and aesthetic specialists recommend the use of ruby lasers for such applications, but many laser and light therapy options are available.
  • Freckles — Laser freckle removal is fast gaining traction in the dermatological world. Recent studies have shown that one of the newest laser technologies, fractional CO2 laser, can reduce the color density of freckles by more than 50% in a month.
  • Acne scarring — Some dermatologists have also started channeling lasers to address acne scars. By stimulating collagen production deep in the dermis/epidermis, lasers can help improve the appearance of enlarged pores, wrinkles, fine lines, and moderate to severe acne scars.
  • Rosacea and redness — Rosacea redness is most frequently caused by telangiectasias, also known as spider veins. Specific lasers can be used to destroy these broken blood vessels on the cheeks and nose. The International Rosacea Foundation recommends certain types of lasers, but warns that treatments may actually cause rosacea to worsen. Because rosacea sufferers are much more likely to experience adverse reactions to certain skincare therapies, treatment should only be provided by highly trained professionals.
  • Dark circles — Pairing the other treatment modalities such as dermal filler and laser toning can help treat under eye cricles.

Doctor’s Advice & Recommendation

Laser toning is suitable for anyone who desires skin rejuvenation. Due to the very low laser energy used, clients can even do laser toning every day.

As the wavelength used is long (1064nm), it is safe for all 6 skin types. However, we advise to defer laser toning for clients who have been sunburned or has ongoing skin allergy or severe acne. Laser toning is not suitable for clients with photosensitive epilepsy and pregnant or breastfeeding.

No anesthesia is required prior to laser toning as it is very gentle on the skin. After photo taking, we proceed with the laser which will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. During the procedure, the face, lips and neck will receive several passes of laser.

Immediately after procedure, a skin calming gel and sunblock is applied. Some clients may have mild facial redness that usually subsides in a few hours. For any laser procedure, be it aggressive or gentle, good sun protection regime is always advised.

Clients should actively avoid the sun and apply sunblock regularly. Avoid whitening / brightening products or peels until the skin has full healed which takes about 3-5 days.

Ensoul Intensified Skin Renewal Program

Ensoul Intensified Skin Renewal Program

The Ensoul Intensified Skin Renewal Program is a unique aesthetic treatment using a combination of multiple therapies in a single session.
It consists of 3 components :

  1. Quad Laser
  2. 4D Anti-Aging Laser
  3. Intensified Anti-Aging Infusion

What is Quad Laser?

1. QUAD LASER comprises four different lasers which target 2 different skin layers – Epidermis and Dermis. The four modalities include (Q-Switched laser, Yag Laser, Pro Yellow Light and Intense Pulse Light (IPL) modality treatments in a successive sequence). As different laser treatment modalities use different wavelength source of high-energy light, it can target different layer of the skin or skin issues. (Eg. pigmentation, acne, melasma, skin redness and facial veins).

Lasers can be combined to augment the stimulation of collagen production and regeneration of new skin cells. Combined treatment modalities yield better results but is technically more demanding and therefore requires an experienced doctor.
The Quad laser treatment objective is to help patients achieve smaller pores, smoother skin, lightening of pigmentation and fairer skin. It also includes intense toning, lifting, skin tightening, and pronounced skin renewal, resulting in natural glow and lightening effect.

The series of non-ablative lasers treat both the epidermis and the dermal layers of the facial skin while the laser skin resurfacing focus on the epidermis layer of the skin causing the skin to rejuvenate and create new, healthier skin cells, resulting in an improvement in skin tone and texture.
One of the many benefits is that there is no downtime. Patients are able to walk out of the clinic looking radiant and more youthful after one session.

4D ANTI-AGING LASER

The toning and lifting laser targets the dermis layer. Patients will generally notice the immediate lifting effect and sense that the skin becomes firmer. The toning and lifting laser treatment are designed to penetrate to almost the full thickness of the skin and target the dermal layer of the skin. This arrangement will maximally stimulate new collagen growth and accelerate elastin production.

Enables by the expanded capabilities of Nd:YAG and Er:YAG, different wavelengths provide four dimension mode for this treatment. It works on deeper, medial and superficial connective structures of the skin, while simultaneously targeting different skin imperfections. With these multiple modalities, it enables full-thickness contraction of collagen for persistent, low-downtime tightening and volumization (wrinkle reduction) without injectable.

Treatment for

What are the effectiveness of the combination of Quad & 4D Anti-aging Laser

The dual therapy targets the epidermal surface, and tones and tightens the inner layer of the skin. The result is a marked improvement in the appearance of the skin, especially for ageing skin. The skin becomes significantly thicker, smoother, glowing, and much more youthful.

Intensified Anti Aging Infusion Treatment

Finally, the patients will undergo the Intensified Anti Aging Infusion procedure. This treatment consists of infusing customised medical grade vitamins into the skin. These vitamins nourish, plump and vitalize the skin to impart a more youthful appearance to the facial skin. Some vitamins include;

  • Glutathione: (Anti Oxidant that reduces the melanin production, this vitamins also helps with skin whitening effect)
  • Vitamin C
  • Hyaluronic acid (Moisture the skin, helps with skin tightening effect)
  • Skin Revitaliser

It is the most appropriate and convenient office procedure, specially tailored for busy individuals who are expected to look good at all time.

Deep Pigmentation Removal

Q-Switched ND:YAG Laser

An award-winning medical treatment, known to target different concerns for Pigmentations, Acne Marks, Pimples, Skin Rejuvenation, and Tattoo Removal.

How does it work?

The Q-switched Laser is also known as Nd-Yag Laser, uses laser beam energy in nanosecond pulses to breakdown excess pigmentation. The shattered melanin will be slowly removed by the body’s immune system. Q-switched ND YAG laser has specific wavelength of 532nm and 1064nm which is applied to the skin and absorbed by coloured pigments such as freckles, age spots, etc. in the skin.

Depending upon individual patient skin conditions and the treatment objectives, the power settings can be calibrated for laser wavelength precision.

What makes Q-Switched Technology Unique?

The low-energy laser passes selectively weakens melanocytes and partially destroys some melanin pigments. The heat from the laser passes also concurrently stimulates collagen production within the dermis. There is ultimately tightening of the skin. The laser gently vaporizes the very superficial layers of the skin.

Q-switching is the technique of modifying the laser wavelength to make it shorter, usually 532nm. The short-wave length laser is useful for treating superficial skin pigmented lesions.

The Q-Switched laser has an extensive safety profile with advanced beam profile that provides a highly uniform beam pattern significantly reducing undesired side effects such as hyper- and hypo- pigmentation. It can be safely used over extended time periods with no beam distortion nor loss of energy.

In short, a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is essentially a laser designed to treat pigments. We however have modified the usage to harness its’ gentle nature to perform laser toning for skin tightening and rejuvenation.

Treatment for

The Q-Switched Laser is an extremely versatile machine and can be used to target different concerns primarily:

Pigmentation, acne marks, pimples and acne, skin brightening, skin rejuvenation, tattoo removal.

  • Pigmentation – the coloured pigments in the affected skin areas, absorb the laser energy and dissolve into smaller units that are then naturally expelled from the body through its natural excretory processes.
  • Acne Marks– inflammation due to pimples, are the primary cause of acne. The skin produces pigments in response to the inflammation of pimples. Ultimately, the pigments lead to development of acne marks and scars. However, laser treatment can address such situations very effectively.)
  • Skin Fairness– just like our hair, our skin colour is also influenced by the quantity of skin pigments. People with darker skin or those who spend a lot of time outdoors, are more likely to have more skin pigmentation. The Q-switch laser can help lighten the skin tone, giving it a fairer and fresher look.)
  • Skin Rejuvenation– the energy emitted by the laser, removes the dirt, reduces unworthy skin cells and also superficial hair on the face.)
  • Pimples and Acne – apart from shrinking the oil glands development and controlling oil emissions, the Q-Switch laser also kills propionibacterium, which is responsible for the development of pimples and acne. Also, since the laser treatment is non-invasive, pimples and acne conditions tend to display less inflammation, keeping acne marks to a minimum.)
  • Tattoo removal– unlike acne and pimple scars, tattoos are foreign pigments embedded in our body. Thus, the laser wavelength is able to remove the tattoo ink pigments from the skin surface.
