An excessively oily scalp can lead to conditions like dandruff, greasy hair and seborrheic dermatitis. The medical term for excess oiliness is called seborrhea, and this is a very common scalp problem. An oily scalp is the result of a high level production of your own natural sebum, or skin oils. Your scalp and hair feels greasy and dirty even if you have just shampooed your hair. An oily scalp can also cause dandruff and scalp acne.

I treat seborrhea by decreasing your scalp’s sebum production, and by also removing dead skin cells and cleansing unwanted accumulations in your scalp. Following a detailed consultation, I will prescribe a customized program to address your unique problem. I will then personally carefully monitor your program and modify this accordingly to your response for optimal results as you progress.
